Prohibited Items Movers Will Not Move

When preparing and packing items for your household move, its important to understand that there are some items that moving companies may not be legally allowed to move. There are some other things that they are just not comfortable  with moving. These items come in three categories: hazardous, perishable and personal. Movers are particularly careful when it comes to protecting themselves and your possessions during especially during transport. This is why we have put together a list of our company’s restricted items to ensure that you have an efficient and stress-free moving process.

  • Ammunition
  • Batteries
  • Bleach
  • Car batteries
  • Charcoal/lighter fluid
  • Chemistry sets
  • Cleaning solvents
  • Fuels/Oils
  • Kerosene
  • Matches
  • Nail polish
  • Paint/Varnishes
  • Paint thinner
  • Pesticides
  • Poisons
  • Darkroom chemicals
  • Motorcycles/ Vehicles
  • Fertilizer
  • Firearms
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fireworks
  • Pool chemicals
  • Propane tanks
  • Sterno fuel
  • Scuba tanks
  • Weed killer
  • Nail Polish Remover


We do not intentionally move  perishable goods since these items would spoil, decay or become unsafe to consume during time in self-storage or transit. Such items could include:

  • Food (Frozen, Fresh or opened food products
  • Plants or flowers


Although we have moved personal and sentimental items in the past, we prefer that you carry such items. We will not be held responsible for these items. Sentimental and Personal items could include, but not limited to the following:

  • Photo Albums
  • Jewelry
  • Gold, Silver, etc
  • Valuables
  • Valuable Documents/ Papers (Titles, Deeds, Notes, etc)
  • financial or medical records
  • Car Keys
  • Stamp Collections
  • State
  • Stock Certificates
  • Bonds
  • Family Heirlooms


There are a list of other items that require special care that could be found in our list of specialty items. From Pianos to Pool tables and Fine Art, we do not move these items that often require special handling, encasing and/ or tools to be moved.
